On Tuesday 12th September 2006 Club Members and friends met up to catch the free coach ready to go on a tour around the docks at Par and Fowey owned by Imerys, formally English China Clays International led by Mr Ivor Bowditch of Imerys. After the tour around Par docks, looking at all the facilities, we boarded the coach again to travel through the old railway tunnel which was converted to a private road when rail services were withdrawn to Fowey docks |
The weather was a little unkind as it was rather foggy but this did not worry us too much as Ivor did a brilliant job, as usual, pointing out many interesting sites and explaining everything perfectly from his vast knowledge of the whole area. The coach was full and I am sure everyone had a good time and we even had chocolate for a snack thanks to Sue. |
