CTC Easter Road Run |
|
|
| The day dawned bright and glorious. We all arrived at Sunny Corner for 10.30am. Basil and Ann had already set up a marquee with tea being poured to all attendees. After a lot of chattering and discussions about various parts of our tractors, we all fired up our engines for the off. |

| Basil took the lead on an approximate 21 mile road run. There were 53 tractors in all and quite a convoy we made. Scattered between us was the odd car (who had to wait to be able to remove themselves) and about four 4x4's, which were driven by devout tractor enthusiasts who wished not to miss anything. |
| About halfway we stopped at Paul Gluyas's Pencoose Farm, Stithians where more tea and hot cross buns had been laid on for the weary drivers and passengers (ah). After we had refuelled we progressed onto the second part of our journey. More lovely scenery was to be viewed before we got back to Sunny Corner where more tea had been laid on along with pasties, scones and cakes. |
| Everybody had more discussions about the run, our three minor casualties (diesel blockages in tractors, not people) and the lovely food spread. The raffle was drawn at this point by our Publicity Officer Tracey "what a voice" Hutchings, whose son, Ashley Richards had helped organise the road run as part of his GCSE Coursework. |
|
Ashley gave thanks to Basil and Ann Coads for their part in organising the run and hosting the event. He also thanked all the drivers for turning up at which point they all joined in clapping. |
| There is still more sponsorship money to be collected and more donations to be handed in. When a final figure is reached we will inform you all through the CTC Newsletter and here on the website. |

Thank you once
again to all who drove a tractor, poured out tea, donated any money or just
came along. Tracey Hutchings |
