Christmas Road Run
7th January 2006

The January Road Run was well attended with members and friends coming from both ends of the county. It was an excellent scenic route. We left Summercourt at approx 10.30 and headed for Mitchell through the back roads.

From there it was to the pretty village of St Newlyn East and on to Legonna and the back of the Hendra Tourist Park. Crossing the road there we headed for Chapel and St Columb Minor, following on to pass the beach at St Columb Minor Porth. We then followed the coast road to Watergate Bay and on as far as Trevarrian, where we made a right turn and headed back towards the Newquay Airport terminal.

Turning left just before reaching there we headed for St Mawgan, Five Turnings St Eval and onto Point Curlew Camping Site for a well earned carvery lunch at which over 100 people attended, some coming just for their lunch while others followed the tractor route. After lunch they dispatched to their journeys home (with just a little hitch on the way back to Winnards Perch roundabout when someone on a Super Dexta had a fuel blockage!)

Thanks to Geoff and Bernard once again for an excellent run
