Laneast Working Weekend |
The weekend went very well. We raised over £1,000.00 for Macmillan Nurses and presented a cheque to them at The Winds of Change, South Petherwin in November. |
The first day we had men playing with their ploughs trying to get them right for the match on Sunday. Then we had Bill Yendle, the English Classic Champion to show us all how its done. He was kind to help on Sunday with the novice Class. There was plenty for all to see. We had stalls, plants, socks, cakes. |
The ploughing was very competitive with about 50 ploughmen competing. It was nice to see Jacob Kistle there and a new lad Sam Medland. We need more young people to come and plough. Bill Browning had a nice selection of stationary engines. Thanks to him for arranging them. We are hoping to have more next year. |
Thanks to Les Burrows for selling Club goods and to all who helped to make it a nice weekend. Thanks to Martin Orchard and family for the use of their ground and for a very nice donation towards our Charity. |
