Some of the wonderful scenery on the journey

31 members and friends went on the holiday. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all, staying at Grange over Sands in a lovely old Hotel, with an Elvis impersonator for entertainment.
On the Saturday went to Glasgow Transport Museum which was brilliant and free! There were cars, vans, motorbikes, trains, bikes, prams, domestic paraphernalia, model ships etc. The party went to Fort William,  Loch Lomond,  Glencoe,  the Nevis Range of Mountains with gondolas on top of the mountains. At Strathbay Railway they were held up for a while as there was a fire on the track. On Monday they went to Neptunes Staircase, the Caledonian Canal with 8 lochs and a swing bridge for road traffic, then onto Loch Ness, Inverness.
Tuesday took gondolas to Ben Nevis. Some went to fishing village and some went on a boat trip to seal island to see the seals and the salmon jumping. Wednesday’s visit was to an underground Hydro Electric Station. They had to use a 20 seater bus underground to see the turbines which were all very impressive and rounded off the day with a fancy dress evening.
Thursday was homeward bound via Calendar through the Trossocks. They stayed near Preston that night and also went to Gretna Green.
On Friday they arrived home tired but having thoroughly enjoying themselves.

But then not all the scenery was good !!!!!

But then it got much better again
