CTC Working Weekend
23rd and 24th of September 2006

Over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of September the Cornish Tractor Club held their Autumn Working Weekend at Trispen nr Truro.
Friday night saw wind and rain threatening the chances of a good weekend, but by mid morning on Saturday the sun was shining. The ploughing started at a leisurely pace as people were preparing their ploughs, cleaning their gouters etc and enjoying the lovely cooked breakfasts that were being prepared in the Marquee by our faithful gang of wives.

Victoria Richards (above) will be taking her test within the next few months Good luck to her. "Sounds of Nevada" provided Saturday evening's entertainment, with Pete and Julie and all their entourage encouraging people to partake in the Karaoke.
But back to the ploughing now.

Sunday dawned bright and sunny. More tractors arrived as the day went on and people were off once more. The horses turned out to show us how it can be done with patience and serenity.

By lunchtime we were temporarily rained off and had to take a breather, but this was no real hardship as once again the Ladies were in the Marquee and kept us supplied with all day breakfasts, cakes and of course the obligatory mugs of tea and coffee.

In between the showers the ploughing continued, whilst those who refrained would discuss all aspects of tractor restoration and the best and worst ways of ploughing.

By late afternoon the ploughing was completed, the caravans were being packed and everyone was discussing when the next event would be held.

So hope to see you next year, further dates will be advertised here on the website when known,
Thanks to all who organised and helped out and to all those who attended.
